Will wants to say something...

Will just wanted me to post something for him. We went to my Aunt Karen's house yesterday for a visit and had an awesome time. He wanted to say this...

Dear Great Aunt Karen...
Thanks for letting me and Mama come over yesterday. You are so nice. I love to smile at you. Phoebe was nice too. Her tongue was a lot bigger than Toby's...it tickled. I hope to see you again soon. You and Aunt Winnie are my favorites. I love you.
Love, Will

Pool time

We took Will to the pool today for the first time. He did well when we were in the water, but he got fussy when we got out. I don't think he had enough nap this afternoon before we took him. It was nice, but Daddy wouldn't let him wear his pool hat that matches his bathing suit. Next time though, he will.

Also, I have posted pictures of Will looking at the computer last night. In one shot he is watching the video Brad made of him. The other is him checking out a few lake houses that he wants Meme and Poppy to look at. I also put a picture on of him and his Daddy talking...too cute.

Will is having his three month old pictures on Saturday. We are going to The Portrait Shoppe. The ladies there did my wedding and Abigail's wedding, so we know they are good. They gave me a gift certificate when I had Will for a free sitting and 8X10, so I am excited. I know they will turn out great.

Will is also going to be starting on cereal this weekend. We will definitely post some pictures of that.

I went and met with Donna today. She is the lady I am going to be working for. She told me that there is no minimum of work I have to do each week, so basically I can set my own pace and schedule. That is good. I am going to take it slow until I get back in the swing of things. I have one 52 minute file due on Monday night, so I have plenty of time to get it done...although it may take me 4 hours to do it. haha.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures. There will be more to come.

The picture

Here is the hickey picture. Also, here is a picture of Kate and Will "sneaking" around the corner to see what is going on...when it was bed time. And lastly, a picture of me and Brad at the Laser show a few weeks ago. Enjoy.

Will's 1st hickey

I forgot to tell you what Will did on vacation!!! On Sunday when we were hanging out at the cabin, I put him on the boppy pillow to have some tummy time. I noticed he was sucking his arm, but I didn't know he was giving himself a hickey. Yikes. It is on his right arm. I have a picture, but for some reason it is not posting. I will try again later.

The Rucker Family Vacation

We just returned home from our trip to Blue Ridge with Meme, Poppy, Aunt Beth, Uncle Zack, and cousin Kate. I hope you enjoy our pictures. Kate is in her pinching stage, so we had to keep telling her to be gentle with Will. They seem to be amazed by each other. It is cute.

Brad and I watched them both yesterday while the other 4 went tubing down the river. It was SO hot and the babies were sweating, as were we, so we hopped in the car and went to Sonic. Yes, Will is naked at Sonic, and yes, that is a passy goatee...haha...I am telling you, it was hot. We had a good time though. Two different ladies asked us how close in age they were and if they were siblings. It was funny.

There is also a picture of Will holding a rattle. It is his first time ever holding one. He rattled it a few times and then was done with that. :)

We had a good time on our trip, but we are also glad to be home. Brad is off for two more days, and I am starting back to work later in the week. I am not returning to teaching this year, but I am returning to doing transcription work from home. I feel very blessed to have the chance to stay home with Will, so I am ready to go back to making a little money for our family.

Enjoy our pictures. We will update again later.

I can't believe it

I just can't believe that today at 11:15am my little boy will be 12 weeks old. Some days it seems like I have had him forever, and other days I can remember checking in at Northside to be induced. God has truly blessed our lives with Will. He is an angel, and I am so grateful that God chose the two of us to be his parents.

Here are some pictures from his actual birthday. Don't you like how daddy took a picture and made me do thumbs up after our first little scare? That was about 20 minutes before they rushed me down to the OR. I remember Dr. Robbins asking me when we got in there if I was scared. I told him that I was feeling fine because he knew what he was doing and God was in control. About 10 minutes later, my perfect baby boy arrived...and daddy did get to see him come out! What a day to remember!!

Pictures

Here are some pictures my sister had posted on her facebook. I had not seen some of these. I stole them. :) One is Will with Aunt Abigail and Uncle Tim, one with Mama, one with Granddaddy, one with his brother, Toby, and one with Great Grandmother and Great Aunt Karen. They are too cute.

Cake Decorating

Let me start by saying that Will had a great day today. After sleeping 9 hours (yipee) last night, he woke up so happy and wanting to play. This afternoon he got to see his Meme and his Nana. Here is a picture of each of them with him today.

When Brad got home tonight, I was finishing up my cake that someone ordered. (I attached a picture) I had a little round cake made from leftover batter and a little leftover pink icing. My darling husband decided he was going to decorate that little cake. So, I have attached a picture of his cake as well (which he says he would charge $75 for). See if you can guess which one I did and which one is his masterpiece. Watching him did make me think that it is going to be fun to have Will help me decorate one someday...one someone isn't paying me for. :)

When you thought I wasn't looking...

This came in a forward from my mother-in-law. The words are true. Every parent should read and remember this...

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my
first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately
wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a
stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind
to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make my
favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little
things can be the special things in life.
When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a
prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always
talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you make a
meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I
learned that we all have to help take care of each
other.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of
your time and money to help people who had nothing,
and I learned that those who have something should
give to those who don't.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you take care
of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have
to take care of what we are given.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you
handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't
feel good, and I learned that I would have to be
responsible when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw tears come
from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things
hurt, but it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw that you
cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking I learned most of
life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and
productive person when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and
wanted to say, Thanks for all the things I saw when
you thought I wasn't looking.

My new nephew

Here are some pictures of my new nephew, Gus. Abigail and Tim decided that Jack needed a brother. He is a 5-week-old German Shepard.

Pictures are back

Yeah...we can use our camera again...unfortunately it is because we had to buy a new battery. It never showed up. Anyway, here are some pictures of Will tonight. He is playing with Daddy, one learning to play the Play Station 3, one with Mama, and then one to show how teething might be starting soon...he is a drool bug these days.

No pictures today...

Hi all. No pictures today. Unfortunately, our battery to our camera is gone. I am so upset about this. We took our camera to a baby shower yesterday and somewhere between our kitchen table and their house and back, the battery has gone missing. We didn't take the camera out of the bag, so we don't know what happened. We have searched our house and our friends have searched theirs, so I just don't know what to do about it. It is gone. :(

We did have a good weekend together though. I don't know why, but the weekends always seem to fly by so quickly. I feel like we finally get to Friday night and I blink my eyes and Brad is headed back to work. His big project started at work today, so he had lots to do to prepare. His mom came last night and helped him make the posters he needed.

Will is doing much better. His nose is still a little stuffy, but he seems to be feeling so much better. Last night he fell asleep around 8:30, I put him in his crib at 9 and he did not wake up until 5:30 this morning. It was so nice...especially since I fell in the bed around 9:15. I felt like I got some good sleep.

I got another cake order for this weekend. It is for a baby shower, but it has a princess theme. So, I am making a princess doll cake. The lady needs it Saturday, but we are going to the mountains then, so I told her she would get it Friday. She seemed happy with that.

Well, Will is taking his afternoon nap, so I am going to go fold laundry and start on dinner. Hopefully the battery will turn up, or we may be going to Best Buy...I can't go that many days without new pictures.

We love the weekend!!

We Ruckers sure do love the weekends. That means Daddy is home with us, and we can relax. This morning Will went with Daddy to watch his tennis team play. They both went so that Mama could have a little quite time and time alone to relax and get ready for the day. Daddy didn't have to play this morning, so they just went and enjoyed being spectators. The fresh air did good for Will. He is feeling a lot better today, so that is good. We snapped a picture before they left (see the one in his Yankees hat in his car seat).

The cakes were for the Toothman triplets. I made their ducky cakes last week, and today was their cupcake party. They had a big cupcake cake, miniature cupcake cakes for their smash cakes, and I made extra regular cupcakes (not pictured) for guests. They turned out really cute!!

Brad and I went to Sam's today and did some shopping. He has a big project at work on Monday and needed some things for it. We are having arts and crafts time tomorrow afternoon for the project. His mom is going to help us...makes me think of all the stories of her doing his school projects. Haha. We are going to dinner with his parents tonight.

Will is with his Nana and Granddaddy tonight. We will get him on our way to a baby shower tomorrow. He loves to stay over there, and it gives Mama and Daddy a little break.

Next weekend we are going to the mountains with Meme, Poppy, Aunt Beth, Uncle Zack, and cousin Baby Kate. It should be very fun. I will take lots of pictures and post them when we get back.

Well, Brad just went out to cut the grass and I think I am going to go put some laundry in and maybe vacuum the house. Have a wonderful weekend!!

Still sick...

So, my baby boy is still sick. He has not had a fever according to the doctor (did you know an official fever is 100.5F?) but he has had a temp of 99.7, and to me, that is a fever. I am giving him Tylenol and just praying that he will get better. His nose is yucky, and he is irritable. One good thing though, he has slept from 10pm until about 6:30am for two nights.

Anyway, here are a few pictures. Myra took the one of us together and the one of him in his car seat with his lovey. One is him in mid roll the other day. The one in the blue outfit was this morning and then the one posing with the passy was last night. What a precious angel!!!
