Fun at the Park

Brad and I took Will to the Grayson park on Monday for a little while. He loves to be outside, so since it was kind of nice weather...sunny at least, we got him out for some fun. He wasn't too sure about the slide, but he loved the swing. Brad had him going really high. He seemed to smile more on his way backwards...I guess because the wind was no longer in his face. He loved it though, so we will be a friend of the park!! :)

Will's 1st Christmas

We had a great Christmas!!! Will got WAY too many toys, and Brad and I just feel so blessed to have had such a wonderful day of fellowship with our families and to celebrate the birth of our Lord. What wonderful memories were made!!! And yes, our son is playing with a "Beauty and the Beast" tea set...it belongs to Kate. :)

To Great-Grandmother's House We Go...

We sure had fun on Saturday at Will's Great-Grandmother's house...my Grandmother. :) Nana, Granddad, and Aunt Abigail rode in our van with us down to Lake Oconee to visit with some family. It sure was nice to be with them. Will got passed around to several family members, but mostly, he tried to see what he could get into. He loved watching his cousin Phoebe lay around on the floor...it was fun to crawl to her and pet her.

This visit definitely got us in the Christmas mood. Tonight we are going to Meme and Poppy's house. Nana, Granddad, and Aunt Abigail are coming, too. Wednesday night we are having our annual dinner at Brad's Aunt Renee's house. Then we will have breakfast on Christmas morning at Meme and Poppy's with Aunt Beth, Uncle Zack, and cousin Kate, and then move over for lunch and Nana and Granddad's. Good thing Daddy is off from Tuesday until the first full week of January...he will need to recover from all this visiting. :)

Our trip to the Mall of GA

Nana, Will, and I went to the Mall of GA this morning. Our mission? To see the jolly man in red. I tried to teach Will how to say "An Elmo Live, please," but he just stared at Santa. Here are two pictures I took of them. He never would smile at him, but at least we have one with him not screaming...next year may be a different story.

After seeing Santa, Nana wanted Will to ride the carousel. Well, Nana didn't want to ride it, so Mama had to ride with him. He leld on for dear life!! Too cute.

We are heading to Great-grandmother's house tomorrow to celebrate Christmas with her, Lou, and Uncle David's family. It should be fun. Have a great Friday everyone!!

So long, friend!!

Yesterday afternoon at 3pm, we lost a good friend. After 12 years of swimming in a pool, being a bed buddy, telling on the other dogs when they try to sneak out the house, barking at anything and everything that walked by the house, protecting the ones she loved, eating Chick-fil-A nuggets like they were going out of style, and being a good friend, Rosella Jaquetta (as she is known to the closest to her) left us.

Mom said she went very peacefully and never made a sound. She was wrapped up in granny's blanket and was in Mom's arms.

Rosey was VERY protective of her family...going as far as trying to bite people when they hugged us...remember that, Bobby? :)

We were all worried about how she would take to Will, but she loved him from the beginning. The first time I brought him to the house, I sat on the floor and told her this was my baby. She started sniffing him and then took to him like she was his Mama...licking him all over. Then, a few weeks ago, I thought he would have gotten bit when I saw him with one hand squeezing her neck and the other hand pulling her ear as hard as he could. I think had it been someone else, they would have regretted that decision, but being that it was him, she just looked at him. Good little girl.

Rosey will truly be missed by all who loved her. I hope she is enjoying her new healthy body and all the chicken nuggets she can digest!! We love you, Rosella Jaquetta!!

Are those presents for me??

Will had a fun time Sunday while Mama was finishing some work, and Daddy was playing with him. Normally Mama makes him stay away from the tree and the presents, but Daddy wanted to see what he would do. He went straight for the big green one, luckily one for him.

After finding out he could not get the paper off with his hands, he used his mouth. You can see how paper is coming off. Finally, Daddy pulled him away when he went after another gift.

I guess now Will is singing the words of Alvin, Simon, and Theodore in his head..."Please, Christmas, don't be late." :)

Bath time fun...

Will loves to take baths!! Here are a few shots I got of him last night. Too cute!!

Tonight is our Sunday School party at our house. Here is a shot of the cute Santa cupcakes I made as one of the desserts.

I hope you all have a great weekend. Oh, and Happy 1st Birthday to Will's cute little church friend, Autumn. We hope you and your family are feeling better really soon. :)

Must...stay...a..wa...ke...

I just put Will down for his afternoon nap, and this is what I found when I went in to check on him. Yes, he is sitting up, sleeping with his head in the corner of the crib. After getting the camera and taking some shots, I fixed him, and he is sleeping a little more comfortably now.

Is it really okay to put this in my mouth?

Are you sure about this, Mama? Is this thing you call a "puff" really okay for me to put in my mouth? Okay...I will trust you...

I think I might like it... It kind of tastes like bananas....I LOVE bananas!!

Okay, I do like it...can I have another one? :)
By the way, do you think Daddy will buy me that Elmo Live I loved at Sam's this morning? :)

Almost back to normal...

Will is doing so much better this week. He still has a nasty cough, but compared to last week, he is oh so much better. He is smiling and laughing, and almost back to normal. He still is not eating as much as normal, but at least he is eating and keeping it down now.

This morning Will and I went to Nana's house. She was hosting lunch for the county nurses and then they were going to have their staff meeting at her house. One of the nurses just became a Grandmother, so they also had a baby shower for her. I made the cake.
This Saturday night, Brad and I are hosting our Sunday School Christmas Party. I think we are going to have a great time.
I am also working on some goodie bags for Brad to take to work for his department. Abigail is going to come and help me bake next Tuesday night. I have 29 bags to make...lots of goodies to make.
I was going to take Will to meet Santa at our neighborhood clubhouse on Sunday, but since he was so sick, we missed it. I was looking forward to having his picture taken with Santa. I guess we will have to wait for next year's Cookies with Santa. Oh well. Have a good rest of the week.

Look's like we made it...

What a week! Brad and I returned from our wonderful relaxing vacation to a very sick little boy. I think God allowed us such a wonderful time full of sleep and fun to prepare us for the week ahead. Meme had taken Will to the doctor on Tuesday just to learn he had a bad cold. I took him back Wednesday when he was running a fever of 101.5 and had yucky coming out of his nose. Again, nothing wrong but a bad cold.

Thursday he ran the fever and had the nastiest cough I have ever heard. I called afterhours and Dr. Messick called me within 5 minutes. He said to watch him and if he got really fussy or pulled at his ears, he would want to see him again. Then it started. He began to vomit Thursday night and would vomit any time we put anything in his mouth on Friday. I took him to the doctor Friday morning and when we arrived, his temp was 103.8...yikes!!

It turns out Will's left ear was completely infected and inflamed and his right ear was halfway to being like the left. He was crying all the time, and completely miserable. Even the doctor made a comment about how he is not the happy baby he is used to seeing. As much as I didn't want my child to have an infection, the doctor and I were both relieved it was an ear infection.

We went to Publix and got our FREE antibiotic...gotta love that. :) Anyway, he vomitted ALL DAY and NIGHT on Friday. His tummy was messed up, too. Poor little guy...and all he was eating was Pedialyte.

Saturday Nana came over and stayed with him while I ran some errands and daddy played tennis. He was still on his Pedialyte diet and doing better at holding stuff down. He was even able to have some apple banana yogurt later in the day. Nana had a pretty easy job since Will slept for 4 hours yesterday morning into the afternoon.

Then today, this is the picture we have of our sweet little boy. He is crawling around and smiling, and he even took 2 ounces of formula...that is nothing for him, but means a lot to us. It looks like we just might make it after all!! Thank you, Lord!!!

Just another day in Paradise...

Brad and I just returned from a wonderful 5-day, 4-night trip to the Bahamas with our good friends, Brian and Ellen. We had a wonderful time. Here are a few pictures that I took from our room. Here was our view. I did not do well at carrying my camera and taking pictures on this trip...I guess you would have mainly seen us lying around doing a bunch of nothing most of the time. Haha. You can barely see Atlantis from our room...I zoomed in. We stayed at Breezes. It was all-inclusive, and we had a nice time.

Will went between Meme and Poppy to Nana and Granddad's house. Toby stayed with Meme and Poppy the whole time since Nana and Granddad have enough dogs in their house nowadays. They had a great time while we were gone.

Meme had to take Will to the doctor yesterday. He has a really nasty cold. I am taking him back this afternoon because of his drainage and now he has a temperature of 101.3 At least he is sleeping right now....he definitely is not wanting to miss the naps.

Oh, and guess who was on our flight back to Atlanta? I was sitting in the Nassau airport and saw a man who looked familiar. I think I stared at him for 5 minutes or so trying to pinpoint who he was. Then I figured it out. I told Ellen, but she didn't know who I was talking about. Then I told Brad, and he said the ladies behind him were just talking about who that was, and I was right. It was Howard Stern...not the radio Stern, but the Anna Nicole Smith Stern. He looked a lot taller than I imagined. I kind of felt sorry for him because he was standing alone and had his head down a lot of the time. Yes, I watched him for about 30 minutes. Sorry for my followers, Brad would not let me take any pictures...not even with my phone. Oh well, just take me at my word...he was on our flight...in the 2nd row. :)
