September

This has been a very busy month for our family. I was just thinking that I had not updated the blog, so I grabbed some pictures off of my phone...

Here are the kids with cousin Ali in Alabama. We went for a family reunion for Meme's family.

Both boys had Grandparent's Day lunches this month. Here are our wonderful grandparents (minus Granddad) having lunch with Will at Wauka Mountain.

We are so happy that Nana and Granddad moved up to Gainesville. Now we can ride in the boat to get to their house if we want to.

This little boy is LOVING school! He plays and works so hard, and he sleeps hard, too!! This was one night at about 6:15...his belly was full and he had just gotten out of the bath!!

The Farmers came over one weekend and we went out to Laurel Park. Our friend, Brian, was in a BBQ competition there. We ate some BBQ, had a snow cone, and the kids played in the water!!

Check Daniel out...I guess white boys can jump! Ha!

Daniel turned "4" earlier this month. I just can't believe he is getting so big!!

Will LOVES school, too! This was him one morning on the way to school. He was so excited to show me his library book. He wanted Granddad to see it!!

We had Daniel's four year old pictures taken. This was a cute one that they took. 

And this week in preschool, we've been learning all about Johnny Appleseed. Daniel loved his hat...see the handle? It's a pot like Johnny wore.

Mama ended up making applesauce for about 50 kids this week. While I was peeling and dicing apples one afternoon, Daniel asked me if I would show him the star. Did you know that every apple has a star in the middle if you slice it horizontally?



It has been a great month, and it is finally FALL...our favorite season!! I know October will be full of tons of fun for us, too!!

Daniel's Week With Rocky

We were very excited to have Daniel chosen "Star of the Week" at school and to have Rocky come and stay at our home for the week. He was such a well behaved house guest, and we would love to have him back again sometime.

It just so happens that Rocky came to stay with us on the day we planned on getting haircuts. I’m thinking it was Rocky’s first trip to Great Clips. He sure was excited! He was even able to sit in the chair with Daniel…under the cape, of course!

He was so well behaved that he even earned a lollipop!

 

If you don't know, it is in the pledge that Rocky be fed cookies EVERY day!!! So, because we keep our word, Rocky received his cookies! (Ms. Tracey and Ms. Darlene may have had a few, too!!)

 Daniel loved showing Rocky different things he could play with at our house! One night, Daniel and his brother made Rocky a cool link necklace. He insisted on wearing it all week!

 Did you know that Rocky loves Play-doh almost as much as Daniel does? It's true!!

And, of course, the week is not complete without a trip to church where Rocky can learn all about how much Jesus loves him! And, yes, they have Play-doh there, too!

Going Back to School...

We are SO happy this year to be going to school close to home! For the past three years, we have been driving one and a half hours one way for Mama to get to the school she's been teaching at. This year, things are different! Will is attending Wauka Mountain Multiple Intelligences Academy! It is about 10 minutes from home. We LOVE the commute! Ha! He is a car rider each day, and he has enjoyed it so far. He started back last Friday and has already told me about a lot of new friends, several of which he already knew from church.

Speaking of church, Daniel is attending Kid's Cove Weekday five days a week! He had his first day today and absolutely loved it. He talked my ear off on the way to pick Will up. I know all about the letter A now and the anteater who wouldn't eat the ants! :-)

Both of my children are very blessed to be attending the schools that they are at! I have prayed for their teachers and their friends, and I just know it is going to be a great year!!

Random Summer Pictures

Here are a few pictures I had saved on my phone. It shows a few things we did this summer. Beau came and stayed with us a few times. It is always fun having a baby in the house again!!

 Daniel NEVER took a passy as a baby. However, he found one and came in the den like this one day!

 Will has gotten really good at his Disney Infinity game. He loves playing it each day!

 We could not wait to see Planes, Fire and Rescue! It did not disappoint!

 Will got Brad's childhood desk for his room. He is so excited to be able to do his first grade homework there this year!!

 And I love this picture. This was when we were in Pensacola. Will had colored this sheet at The Fish House. He was so proud of his coloring!!!



Family trip to Pensacola

Back at the end of June, the Rucker family went to Pensacola Beach. Meme and Poppi rented us a great beach house, and we had a wonderful time. One night we went out on to the beach and had some family pictures taken! Here are a few of my favorites...

Vacation Bible School 2014

This week is our VBS at church. I am teaching a three-year-old class. They are so sweet! Daniel had a bit of a rough start because he thought Ms. Tracey was going to be his teacher, but she is his school teacher and he was confused. She has been giving him some sweet love each day though! Here are a few pictures that were taken throughout this week...I found them on the site through the church. Too cute!

And today was exciting! Ms. Elizabeth, the children's minister, stopped me in the hall and asked if I had heard the news? I don't get to go to the big meeting in the mornings because I'm with the younger kids, but this morning, Will's name was called, and he won an awesome 3D watch with a laser on it. He had to go on stage in the worship center to get it. He was SO excited about it!!! 

My kids are having a great time, but most importantly, they are learning more about Jesus and how much he loves us!!
