Grandparent's Day at Daniel's School

Today was Grandparent's Day at Daniel's school. He was SO excited that his Nana, Granddad, Meme, and Poppi were all coming to visit with him and see his classroom. Earlier in the week they had all had lunch with Will, so he knew it was his turn. Here he is when Meme and Poppi got there today. It looks like he's introducing them to Ms. Jennifer!
Daniel got to enjoy a muffin while talking to Nana!
Isn't he cute sitting there at the table??
At his school they learn yoga. Here is one of the poses...I guess he was showing off for his grandparents!
We are extremely blessed that our boys have four living grandparents and even two living great-grandmothers! We are so happy that they are a special part of our lives! Daniel told me he had a great time today, but that he cried when they left because he wanted to go with them!

And So It Begins...

...homework, that is! We are into week 5 of Kindergarten and homework has just begun. Tonight's assignment was for Will to draw his teacher. We had big plans...talked about it last night after his homework, again this morning on the way to school, he had a talk with Mrs. Gosman this morning, and we talked about it on the way home today. His plan was to draw Mrs. Gosman and Mrs. Statham...and he couldn't wait. So, then it happened...it wasn't what he wanted. Mrs. Gosman did not turn out as beautiful as she really is...so says Will. I told him this was an awesome picture of Mrs. Gosman and that I thought she would love it. He didn't. So, she got erased...if you can erase crayon. She just wasn't beautiful enough.
So, he did this. He added her yellow hair...after I convinced him it was cute hair and not crazy hair. She finally looked "more beautifuller" and more like her real self. So, next comes Mrs. Statham. Not good! See Mrs. Gosman's right hand is holding something...or used to be holding something? Well, that was Mrs. Statham...then it got erased...then it became a flag...and then it got erased! Sorry, Mrs. Statham, but Mama thought he'd had enough. 30 minutes of getting frustrated was plenty for tonight. We love Mrs. Statham, but she'll have to be drawn another night!
But after dinner and bath time, he was back to his normal, crazy self...swinging nun-chucks and talking about tomorrow's events! I love that boy!

Silly, Sleepy Boy

On Thursday nights, we stay at Nana and Granddad's house. This helps us not to have to make our long commute both ways all five days! Most Thursday nights, this is my bed buddy. So, last night, he was in a silly mood. He was also sleepy! This is him at almost 10p.m...
 ...and the later it got...
 ...the sillier he got! :-)

Handsome Boys!

This is Daniel the other night in the tub. He was just relaxing after a long day at school.
Here is Will in my classroom before school one morning. The Kindergarten teachers wore these ties for a presentation we did, and he just loved it. He decided he wanted to wear it and have his picture made.
Both boys are making lots of friends in school. Daniel tells me stories about his buddies. Will tells me lots of things about his friends...girls and boys! One day last week he had a great friend. Well, this week he was NOT his friend anymore because the boy was mean to a very beautiful girl friend in his class, and he was not going to be friends with him if he was mean to her! What a sweet little heart!

Out of the mouths of babes...

We Kindergarten Teachers have a saying..."We'll believe half of what they tell us if you believe half of what they tell you!" Ha! Is this ever true??? Well, case in point today...this guy...yep, this is what he normally looks like on the ride home. This is an old picture of him, but the pose is the same...
...this guy told his teacher some whoppers today! They were talking about Labor Day and what their parents do for work. So, here's what we apparently do...
Debi (Kindergarten Teacher AT HIS SCHOOL...next door) washes the dishes and cleans Daddy's office.
Brad (works at Turner Broadcasting) goes kayaking with Josh and works in the boat garage!
Sorry, son, but none of those things pay the bills! I'm sure Daddy and Josh would love if they could make a living kayaking! :-)

He's such a big boy!

Will had a very exciting first today...his first trip to the Media Center at school. He talked about this a lot this summer...he just could not wait to check out a book at the library once he was in Kindergarten. He was SO excited to show me...then Daniel...then his Daddy when we got home. Of course, Daniel thought it was a new book for him since he's the book worm! I thought this was so cute!
An idea I saw on Pinterest was to make a shirt with their "class" on it. Then you take a picture each year wearing the same shirt until they graduate. So, I bought a man's large. Here he is for his Kindergarten year!
Will is absolutely LOVING Kindergarten! He tells me about all the fun things they do each day. He told me the other day that he loves Mrs. Gosman, and she's such a pretty girl!!

Will Goes to School

Today was Will's first day of Kindergarten! He was SO excited to go. We've been counting down the days for I don't know how long. This is what he took his teachers last week when he met them...
Will's classroom is right down the hall. I can look out my door and see his. I like that he is so close. We saw each other several times today! I wonder when he'll stop yelling "Hi Mama!!" when he sees me??? This is him right before he headed down to Mrs. Gosman and Mrs. Statham's room!
And I just had to put this picture in. This was about 5:45 this morning. We had just realized that his new shoes we've been saving for Kindergarten do not fit. He was NOT happy. This was the best picture I could get! Ha! It's a memorable one!
